Love: Wander Often, Wonder Always

Good evening dearest readers! Do not worry, I have not forgotten you since we are still Monday after all. It seems with every week that goes by, each gets progressively busier but I also get one step closer to being done! Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but I just know what's waiting for me at the finish line and I really want to get there!

Not only am I going to have my car Glen waiting for me when I get home, but I have officially booked my tickets to go to Iceland with my friend Geneviève at the end of May! I will once more be a world traveller and have one more country to add to my list. It will be a good practice for Gen and I since we have the Celtic countries to go visit next summer. There are so many things to discover and I can't wait to try it all. I even went to get an interactive guide which has a map, because I'd rather not get lost in a foreign country, but let's be honest, that would be one really interesting blog entry.

And with that in the back of my mind, the crazy schedules, the tough assignments simply become things to complete so that I can collect my prize at the end. There is officially only 62 days left until April 30th, and I'm technically done even before that, but I have until then to move out of my current apartment and decide where my life will take me next. Who knows dearest readers, maybe I'll be in your neck of the woods next?

Laughter: You Go Glen Coco!

Good  morning my dear readers! I am pleased and a little homesick to be back in Ottawa but on the plus side, I have a total of 68 days left before I move back and have my degree completed. I am over the moon and still a little bit stressed; I'm just full of mixed emotions today! Though I'm back from my Reading Week, I'm a little disappointed that I didn't have enough time to complete all of the work I had set out to do but that's usually what happens when I go home. However, I didn't sit around and do nothing, I was extremely productive and that is what refers to today's title.

Believe it or not, it is not everyone who understand Mean Girls references, and when my mother and I revealed to my father the names of very special items we had just purchased (thinking we were the most clever people on the planet) my father simply nodded agreeing that they seemed to be good names. Now, when I was back home, my crazy and generous parents (whom I am so so grateful to have) brought me car shopping after my father had already set out a couple for my mother. It was time for change, and for me to have the possibility of the open road in front of me. My mother on Friday, bought a 2016 Honda CR-V in a coffee colour that she immediately named Coco (because yes, we are those people that name our cars). My father had been eyeing this 2006 silver CR-V for me (which is basically one of my favourite cars to drive and the one I got my license with back in the day) and it was reasonably priced. After lots of back and forth and multiple appointments left and right of all the things necessary when acquiring a vehicle, we put the down payment for it on Thursday. When I heard what my mom was calling her car, I was inspired since we're basically driving the same car, just a decade apart, and thus Glen emerged out of oblivion.

So now I feel a little more free, a little more excited for the summer to come around so that I may go on many more adventures. But do remember dearest readers, make sure your audience is well versed in your material before you become a stand up comic because the joke isn't as funny if you have to explain it. Though the punch line was ruined, I still got a car so you know....silver lining and all. See you on the open road dear readers!

Love: Snowshoes and Sunshine

Good evening dearest readers and I apologize for the slight delay on this week's post. I was able to go back home for my Reading Week, and I've just been so busy and getting new material to post about that I completely forgot to post it. I'm proud to say that the blog has now passed the 3000 mark with original views, and I figured that that deserved a new adventure. So with that, let me tell you about the wonders of the great white North.

Growing up in Northern Ontario, I've learned to love and even eagerly anticipate every new snowfall. I love a soft cold that allows for good times outside and winter sports. I enjoy snowmobiling, skiing (both cross-country and downhill), amongst other snow-related activities but I had never gone snowshoeing. My parents had both gotten new pairs last winter and found some trails a little further out of the city. After a Monday morning of cross-country skiing, my mother asked me if I'd like to join her snowshoeing in the trails in the back of our house. I knew I liked snow, and I definitely like shoes, so the rational thing to do was to try out an activity that combines those two things. And as to be expected, I loved it. I even tried running a bit in them (and I actually managed a small distance) before I tumbled forward and left my mark in the fresh powder on the side of the trail.

Snowshoeing is something that I like so much that (even though it's only Wednesday), I've been every day since for a good dose of fresh, cold air. Change, and trying new things can be good, but you'll never know how you feel about something without giving it a shot. So if you like snow and shoes as much as I do, maybe this is something perfect for you that you never thought of before. Find a new adventure dearest readers and let it inspire you because great adventures make for better stories.

Love: I'm Feeling It

Good afternoon/evening dearest readers! Feasgar Math! That's Gaelic for good afternoon/evening (so now you know as much Gaelic as I do), but I do plan on being a little better at it since I do have a class of it this semester. So on this glorious day of the Super Bowl, I have decided to do something that I haven't in a REALLY long time...post a new song! I've been stuck in a creative rut for a while, and it wasn't until I went home for the holidays that I got inspired and wrote a new catchy song (well I think it's pretty catchy), and I've taken the time to post it for you today. I think you've put up with me enough considering the fact that I've made you wait long enough, and you're good enough to read my longer entries, but to give you all a small break, I thought it would be fun to make you listen to something after all this time. So without any further delay, enjoy my dear readers!
